How long can I be away from Portugal?
You are within the limits.
If you leave tomorrow, you can stay away up to 119 days without passing the limits.
Rule: a temporary permit may be cancelled after 6 months in a row abroad, or 8 months in total, during its validity, without a valid reason.
To stay on the safe side, we count the day you leave and the day you return as days abroad, and a month as 30 days.
How much income do I need to show?
Based on the 2026 minimum wage of €920: 100% for the first adult, 50% for each other adult, 30% for each child.
The rule refers to the minimum wage after social security deductions; many offices ask for the gross amount. We show the gross amount to be safe. Some visa types have their own amounts.
